Vanzetti suede leather upper and laces, gum bottoms. I bought these things in Montevideo, Uruguay, for 20 bucks. I liked them so much I bought another pair that you'll see coming up later. Everyone in Argentina was wearing these things 11 years ago when I was there. You should, too. Make a bid, and maybe I'll pass these on to you. These babies are form-fitting, though, so you'll get the Bret's feet experience. Experience the Spirt.

Nike Air Max Breathe Free II Tennis. These things carry a sixth month no-wear-out guarantee. I wore these to play tennis against my 11-year-old nephew who beat me 6-2, 6-2 while I wore them. Oops. But I did beat my brother. These are fine and dandy tennis shoes, for only 59 bucks at the nike factory store. Just what I needed, another pair of shoes.

Asics Gel Trail Attack II. I've gotten lots of compliments on these bad boys. They look kinda like a construction zone. But a dope and super comfortable shoe. I feel like I overpaid for them a little bit by paying $54 bucks. But these have the potential to become my most worn and most versatile shoe.

Nike Air Considered Boot. These were only $30 at the Nike Factory Store. Thought I would give them a try. Very interesting shoe. They're green and much of the upper is made of woven shoelaces. They had an original price of $110. Yeah. The box these came in is really cool...with a tiny swoosh cut out of the middle top.

A black dress shoe that I use for church or interviews. These were $40. They're not that nice, but they're good enough to look nice and dressy and not too thin and cheese-ball lookin'.

Asics Gel 101, circa 1989. These came from my dad's sporting goods store which went out of business in 1991. I used to wear these all the time in high school, and they were my best running shoes in 1990, and I've just kept them around in retirement wearing them like once a year, because they're kinda classics--a big deal. These were made back when shoes were still simple. No frills, shox, or tuned air bubbles. Just some silica-filled water in a plastic bag underneath the insole. Ghetto! Sheer beauty.

Nike Shox VC. The first edition of the Vince Carter line of shoes. These are my favorite shoes for playing basketball of all time. Everything is better while wearing these shoes. They are just about perfect. This is why I'm not married. I have these shoes. But I hadn't even put them on since leaving Lincoln, because I don't really play ball here in California. Too many other things to do(uche). But I'll keep them with my 40 other pairs of b-ball shoes for the day that I play indoor ball again.

Nov 13--#47

Nike Shox Elite. These were the first ever Nike Shox basketball shoe made. They cost $50 at the Nike factory store. These have a somewhat huarache-style design and are super stable and a great b-ballin' shoe. Shox are so great. Praise God from whom all shox flow, even though the left shoe is a little tight on me.

Nov 12--#48

Nike Air Max running shoes. These belonged to my cousin, Todd, who was deseased as of January, 1998. As you can tell, the shoes have also passed away, and today was the last day I wore them, for they are now in the trash can. I didn't realize they had rotted out. I wonder how many of my other shoes are rotting away in my closet? I hadn't worn these shoes since I lived in Lincoln over two years ago. Never more to be worn, they will take the journey to SLO county landfill next Tuesday, to live with old pergo flooring, magazines and the latest copies of "More College Faith."

Simple Flame. These have been too durable. They never die. I bought them for 20 bucks back in the summer of 1998. I play tennis in them, mow the lawn, redo my ceilings, but they keep on chuggin'. Yeah. Yee haw. Chug chug chug chug. Choo choo choo choo. So get on board to-day!

Nov 10--#50

Nike air Goretex waterproof trail running shoe. I can't remember the name. But I got it for 30 bucks on ebay. It's a really pleasing shoe, and the most breathable waterproof shoe I've ever had. Definitely came in handy last weedend in Oregon.

Adidas Samba old school shoe. I stole these out of Elliot Smith's garbage can as he was moving away from Lincoln in July. These poor babies almost met their maker. Instead, they met the one person who will never ever leave them or get rid of them because he is a sick weirdo with ten thousand pairs of shoes.

By the way, we are nearing the halfway mark. Oh yeah, baby, you haven't even seen half of my foot coverings. Just you wait enri iggins.

Nov 8--#52

Nike Air Max Chosen. Every day can be Matt Gal day if you have a stylin' pair of these badboys. I waited until they got down to 20 bucks on Eastbay, and I pounced. A great all around ballin' shoe. One of the few white shoes I enjoy wearing.

Nov 7--#53

Nike Clogposite. The cool look of foamposites, but a cost of nine bucks. Sure, they're purple/brown irridescent. But hey free dummy. These things really stink, though. I think I should bleach them out or something because I wore them too much and got them all sweaty and they like molded or something. But you gotta keep wearing them. It's good for your hair.

Nov 6--#54

Reebok aqua shoes that never, ever die. I took these through Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Turkey. They can do anything. Spain, Argentina, Bahamas, Mexico and even New Mexico. All the foreign countries these shoes have seen. I just can't bear the thought of throwing them away, even though they're all faded and have drywall on them from doing house work in them.

Nov 5--#55

Timberland leather air Jesus sandals. These things never get old. I got them for 12 bucks. They're the best water shoes I've ever had. Too bad they're just a wee bit small. That's the price you pay for sandals marked down from 90 to 12.

Nov 4--#56

Steve Madden brown shoe. Yeah, these things are sweet. Church them. Jeans them. Dunk in dem.

Monday

Nov 3--#57

Nike Flight Zoom Ratchet. Yeah, that's my name for them. A hot shoe. Behold its dopeness. These things are so beautiful . . . to me. Can't you see? They're everything I hoped for. Everything I need. But I have like 60 more pairs I feel the same way about that are already on here, and 60 more you haven't seen before. I feel like Solomon. He had lotsa hoes. I got lotsa shoes.

Nike Shox VCIII. I thought I would go crazy and buy a pair of shoes that are totally white, based on the recommendation of a dude working at the factory store where I bought these for sixty bucks. I still feel weird in them. But they are pretty comfy. In general, VC's are the best ballin' shoes I've ever found. But I haven't balled in these yet. I haven't cried while wearing them, either. Maybe I'll think really sad thoughts now. Blogs are so gay. Pardon me, if you are gay. It's just an expression. And I'm just typing, so maybe I mean gay to be happy or positive.

Nike Air Bakin' 180. These were supposedly designed as the signature shoe of Dennis Rodman back in 1998. I bought them from the Nike Factory Store for 20 bucks. The dude working there said, "For 20 bucks, you can use these to mow the lawn." I never mowed the lawn with them, and I rarely played basketball in them, but they have been great for tennis, rockclimbing, soccer, and looking really cool. Smooth shoe. Again, I wish I had bought like 10 pairs. A classic.
